Derma Science's Xtrasorb wound dressings is a super absorbent wound dressing that gives you a core extra-absorbent polymer technology that siugnificantly improves the functions of the wound dressing compared to conventional moist wound dressings. While other absorbent dressings (foam, abd pads and other cellulose dressings) depend on spaces inside the dressings to fill with fluid, Xtrasorb's super absorbent polymers bind the fluid and convert it into a gel. Xtrasorb dressings can hold more fluid locked away inside the dressing, which helps to reduce the potential for maceration and keeps the damaging content within wound fluid away from the wound. Xtrasorb wound dressings can be utilized on an variety of chronic and acute wounds including; pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, donor sites, venous leg ulcers, post-operative wounds, arterial ulcers and traumatic wounds.
